Happy 7th Birthday Trista!

Trista turned 7 on July 2nd...Happy Birthday to our big girl! Trista decided that she wanted her party to be at the Hooper pool and she wanted us to camp there. So, we did and lots of family and friends joined us! We had a GREAT time! The kids both improved so much on their swimming since we swam both Saturday and Sunday. Trista can now go off of the diving board without a noodle and swim to the side underwater...she is thrilled and we are pretty proud! I don't have any pictures from the "Hooper party" but it was fun! Thanks to everyone that made it! We were at the cabin for her actual birthday and she enjoyed that as well. She had already taken cupcakes to Connie's and we took a cake to the cabin, so she has celebrated well!

7 things about Trista:
  1. She loves to sleep! Yesterday, she slept in until 9:45am! She always tells us "I'm growing, just let me sleep!"
  2. She is a very good eater. She will try any food out there and likes just about everything.
  3. She is a big helper. She is pretty good at helping me out around the house, even without being asked!
  4. She is tough! She has a "touch" of girly-girl in her but is a pretty aggressive competitor.
  5. She loves to read.
  6. She is VERY detailed oriented and remembers everything!
  7. She is a great daughter and sister!
WE LOVE YOU, TRISTA!! Dad, Mom, and Tanner

Cabin

We went up to the cabin this 4th of July weekend. We were only able to get away for 1 night but it was great. Curt loaded up all the branches/limbs left over from the 8 trees he cut down last summer. He got all the branches in the dump trailer but there is still a pile of needles to pick up. Brownrigg's had us up to their cabin (which conveniently, is right above us) for lobster. They had LIVE, Maine lobster flown in so it was a treat (and entertainment!). Trista stayed at their cabin with Burke and Kade came with us. It was nice and relaxing and great to see some rain!
Here they are...still alive and cramped in the box!

Little boys looking on...

Brownrigg scared the little boys with the lobster, pretty funny!

Tanner was the only kid brave enough to hold one!

 Beautiful Views!
Trista loved washing all the dishes, PERFECT!!
Look close...there are 2 baby deer in the trees!
All loaded up and ready to cover!
Look at all the branches!
Time to sing to the birthday girls! Bethany (Kim's cousin) turned 21 on Friday and Trista was 7 on Saturday!

Busy Summer!

The delay in posts has been strictly due to enjoying the summer! The weather hasn't been the greatest, unless you love to be sandblasted in the heat! Trista started off the summer with a week of basketball camp, which she loved! Then, both Trista and Tanner attended Vacation Bible School which is always a blast! T-ball started and went the month of June...both kids really had shown improvements this year! On June 27th, swimming lessons started and they run through this week. Add in my mom's wedding in Trinidad, fireman field days in San Luis, a trip to Denver/Water World, camping at the Hooper pool and a trip to the cabin and we have had a busy, but fun summer so far! We are looking forward to lots more fun but here are some pictures of our summer so far. Trista's birthday party this year was at the Sand Dunes swimming pool. We camped their, along with Sydney and Caleb Riggenbach and the Temple's. Unfortunatey, my camera had a dead battery so there isn't a single picture from that fun weekend!
Tanner is front and center in the lime green shirt!

Trista is behind the boy in the black shirt...looking to the side!

No need to tell her to smile!

Swimming fun, they are actually learning lots amidst all the chaos!

Easter

Our Easter was great! I dyed eggs with the kids while Curt was working in Cotopaxi. On Sunday, we went to Church and then had a great Easter meal with my mom, Mark, and Carl. It was a relaxing day, so relaxing, I don't even have pictures!

Tanner's Birthday Fun

Tanner's birthday was quite awhile ago, but I never got around to posting some pictures. So, here 'ya go! And...thank goodness the mohawk didn't last long but you will notice it in these pictures! :)
